Lakewood

It is thought to be a great place to live by multiple sources.

Welcome to Lakewood

Home to beautiful architecture and natural surroundings

To the east of Dallas, the city of Lakewood can be found to the west of White Rock Lake. It is occasionally referred to as Lakewood Proper because there are other suburbs nearby sharing the Lakewood name. Lakewood Proper makes up the east side of the Lakewood area. Home to 14,954 people with about 2,900 houses, it is the largest residential area in the greater Lakewood city. Its borders are Abrams Road, Mockingbird Lane, Williamson Road, Winstead Road, Country Club Road, and Gaston Road.

Considered to be in the top ten best big-city neighborhoods in the country, it is thought to be a great place to live by multiple sources. Some of the most historic and architecturally significant properties in the nation’s southwest can be found here. Residents enjoy a beautiful selection of Colonials, Spanish, ranch-style, Mediterranean, mid-century moderns, Prairie-style, and Tudor houses. Conveniently located, the area is close to downtown Dallas, entertainment districts, and White Rock Lake.
